Today we took our first class with Emma O’Kane; a beautiful dancer and choreographer. It was probably one of my favorite classes. She was a tough ass but in the best way possible. She wanted us to really improve, grow and feel different after taking her class; and she accomplished this well. She taught us a combination towards the end of class and then had us improv for 2 counts of eight. She loved the improv because she was happy to see us let go, and do whatever moves us and whatever we are feeling. She inspired me to keep working my hardest and to put all my energy and focus on the movements I am doing even if its a simple plié. After her class we had a discussion with Megan about the rest of the Dublin Dance Festival and some of Jerome Bel’s work. Then I went filming with Ana around Dublin for a little bit during our personal studio time. It was wonderful to just dance in public and film even if other people thought it was strange. I personally enjoyed it. The best part was that while filming a lady bug landed in my hand, and of coursed I had to dance with it for a little bit until it flew away. Overall, it was a pretty wonderful day.
